May be is not a great achievement, but is better than nothing. Today I got an email for my account at fiverr that manages backlinks sales and I got a promotion. From now on I can sell extras above 5 dollars and allow multiple gigs at once.
Fiverr has been a steady earner since I post for free on one of the top traffic sites on the planet. All tough I did create successful gigs, the challenge has been creating profitable gigs, since they have to be sold at 5 dollars, that are in deed, little less than $4 after fees.
They also pledge Priority support: to questions or problems from their “support ninjas”

An online acquaintance started providing me $105 google vouchers for $7, a profitable discount to say at least.
Most affiliate websites I have were denied by Google for many reasons such as “bridge site”, “bad landing page” and other reasons.
Then came Tapad.org
I bought the domain after learning that tapad – an advertising company got funding of millions of dollars but did not buy the .net and .org extension like everyone else.
Then I put a funny commercial blog there. The site was approved by Google and every visitor stays an average of 3 pages there, and as I said, I could obtain the traffic for very little. It could also attract advertisers, improve affiliate sales.
After thousands of happy visitors, that enjoyed funny commercials. I have ONE backlink sold, better than nothing, but, If I were paying for these visits, the site would be an expensive joke.
I am “pulling the plug” on the tapad advertising, sent an email message to tapad.com, perhaps they are interested on the domain. Meanwhile, I will keep on selling links.

This interview caused a great impact on me. I watched 3 times from the start until the end, and if I have time, I will watch a few times more. Is indeed a GREAT TUTORIAL on how to make money with domain.
mr. Costello gives tips and strategies by telling the development of 2 domains of his middles size portfolio estimated to be in the hundreds.
The palmsprings.com reportedly bring in close to 1 million dollars every year by selling advertisement space. The price changes according to the type of business, where hotels pay more than restaurants, mr. Costello reports.
Now a GREAT SALES PITCH mr. Costello teaches and I started using it ( I pitched one yesterday) is to approach the business and to prove that your site can bring in sales, provide a trial period for free. I used this pitch yesterday successfully, and hope to keep using it.
A great success story was about daycare.com where he posts day care information. Sometimes the daycare business themselves would call in requesting corrections, and then pay a fee, entitling them to do so. I had people calling in for corrections, on my own sites, and did not think of that, and even deactivated the site. Now the site is back on, and I already now my path.
mr. Costello also makes a point of not faking stats and creating original, unique content to ensure quality rankings. Well… I am working on that

I currently manage close to 25 websites that provide a very modest income. The sweetest of all income is the backlink sales. Not much work, and I wonder How can I increase orders and price.
The first rule is to raise a price on anything is increase demand. Most backlinks are sold on Fiverr, and orders are dwindling. I opened an Ebay outlet for them as well, but so far only one sale. Adsense income is very low, not really relevant.
So I am testing buying traffic. On a recent email from Michael Cyger, from Domain Sherpa he told me he obtained his top rated advertisers, by basically canvassing and networking. Which is basically what has to be done, once you have a presentable website to propose.
What means presentable ?
So I am experimenting raising my traffic, buying cheap clicks from Facebook and Google Adwords, hoping I will be able to perhaps:
Increase my ranking
All in order to obtain advertisers.
Is a slow process, since traffic costs money. Currently I am investing $2 each site, aiming at 100 unique visitors a day.
This morning I received an email from a publishing company offering me books, in order to ease several interviews they wish me to post on the site, to promote their books. It is not money, but it is profit. The proposal came after I sent them a screen shot of my (bought) traffic.
Also you my just put you logo. Google will show your logo for free, until someone clicks. This makes the public more familiarized with your brand, and long term that could result in great performance.
I already enabled Google Analytics to be viewed publicly on the main sites, using the Google Analyticator plugin, giving it a try.
Most of the content is copy and paste, spinned articles from Google Alerts. Or “Inspired” articles.
I also considered hiring authors.

Your promise is the essence of your brand. Don’t make the common mistake
of thinking that your logo is your brand identity. Your logo is a visual representation
of your brand and an important element of your brand identity, but
it’s just one component. When people think of your brand, they may visualize
your logo, but your promise is what motivates them in your direction.
While-you-wait service is a promise. The best on-time arrival record is a
promise. “You’ll never wait in line” is a promise. “You’re a name, not a
number” is a promise. Each one puts a company’s reputation on the line by
assuring that the brand will live up to the high expectations it sets for itself,
or else. The promise becomes an internal rallying call for excellence and a
magnet for new business.
Your promise is essential to your branding strategy. If you’re not already sure
of the promise you make to all who deal with your business, consider these
questions:
Answer these questions on your own, ask managers and staff members to answer them, and then go to a few key customers and ask for their input.
Explain what you’re up to. Tell them that, as part of your branding strategy, you’re clarifying the way your business promise is interpreted in the market, and you’d appreciate their responses to the preceding questions.
When you’re done with your analysis, take these steps:
1. List all the reasons customers choose your business and the attributes
they count on only your company to deliver.
2. Circle all the attributes you’re confident that you can deliver consistently
and upon which you’re willing to stake your reputation.
Chapter 6: Putting Your Brand into Words 97
3. Put a check mark next to those attributes that are compelling to customers
and to your internal team — the ones you can rally behind
and take pride in offering.
4. Take the checked items and make a short list of business attributes
that are most assured, most compelling, most believable, and most
consistent with the character of your company.

After flipping, reportedly over 300 real estate properties, and selling his real estate company, Chef Patrick reveals one of his strengths: Branding. . The domain itself is close to $10 registration per year. One you create an image to represent the site and broadcast, the domain becomes recognized, and then you are selling a BRAND a recognized brand.
This means paying traffic to SEE YOUR logo and site, turns your domain into an asset instead of just a web service.
I am already testing on buying real traffic for a couple of sites I have, even though they are not selling anything, just to see if it improves the organic traffic.
My mistake? Some of them do not have a LOGO…. something I will fix very fast.

I did sell a couple of times on Flippa, but over all it has not been a good experience. To list an item is $19 which you may think it is not much since it attracts a lot of deep pocket buyers, so you consider the insertion fee as a business expense, but in case of a real sale, there is an additional 5%.
I also sold once to a non payer. While they did refund the insertion fee, it was a hassle to request, then re list, then not sell the failed auction. They are competent, but just does not work for me.
Then you have the payout. When you sell, a complete stranger, on some remote part of the planet, is a recipient to your site, so a trust issue is created. Despite their fees, they don’t broker the deal, unless you want to fetch another 10% to escrow.com
Now escrow, will pay only by check. Since I am on a remote part of the planet, the check could take easily 3 months to arrive, after the check the transaction, collect from buyer, issue the check, mail…. a long story.
You may demand money up front, but then buyers get wary, severely reducing demand for your site, that drives the price up.
on the end, you lose the $19, my second time now, aside the times I did sell, and paid.
I had a very good experience with Sedo. There was a real human brokering the deal, the domain was transferred to Sedo’s account and payment came from Sedo. There is only one requirement PATIENCE. They don’t sell in 3 days like Flippa or ebay… you want the comfort of setting a price, you must pay for it.
Besides most of my sites and domain do generate income, but just a little.
On this specific sale, Casio was performing very well and then was penalized by Google. I then decided to sell. Perhaps that was a mistake too.
Sedo charges something like 30% of the sale, but
I only pay if there is a sale.
I don’t have to trust the seller.
They were very quick on answering emails and paying.
Ebay is also great specially for under $1000, and it is possible to list for FREE, 7 days maximum.
Flippa has very good features such as verified statistics and page rank verification, but overall, it has been very expensive.

Google had a page rank update last June 27, 2011 and several of the websites I operate appreciated. That is the good news. the bad news is how much? Take for example an exact match name HTC-Desires.com I own the domain and operate the website. It now has a PR1. and trades on ebay close to $20. It would be cool if I could do that with $1000, but that is not the case. The site was built and is fed, to this very day.
Another website, perplexities.org, single word, originally bought with a fake pr, jumped to page rank 2.
The domain appreciation itself is almost irrelevant, but there is the backlinking craze out there, people pay. It is a way of advertising.
The higher the page rank, the easier will be to sell the backlink.
Take for instance Casio-Shock.com, it had 80 organic visitors daily, now after the update, it has Page Rank 2, but traffic severely drop, therefore hurting income. This case is exasperating, since the advance represents a huge recess.

When I first about Commission Junction two years ago, I was all excited.
- What do you mean? You get paid for recommending companies like skype?
The answer is yes. but you get paid after you complete at least $100 and by snail mail. For Israeli payments, they would mail the check to Switzerland than to Israel, to save on stamps, taking sometimes 40 days to arrive. They could afford a paypal account like everyone else, but, that would make payment too easy, and besides their portfolio is remarkable. Skype, Vistaprint, Godaddy top US companies with great service, nothing hard to sell. So publishers just lived with it.
As the long waiting to get paid was not enough, now they are charging $10, monthly I guess, to manage the publishers account. Well if i am bothering, I guess is time to go.
I requested CJ to close my account and the account was closed in about one hour, and the last check, arrived far faster than the usual.
I learned the basics of Affiliate marketing on Commission Junction and over all was a great experience. Met people. I will stick to the same rule. Recommend products and services I use myself, and try to deal directly with the vendor, avoiding middle man brokers, if possible.

Advertising is shifting, from papers, from tv, from radio, from the internet, from mobile phones. The bottom line for any advertiser is:
Influence a consumer decision.
Buxom Blonds. Well, buxom blonds may still work, but responsible consumers, specially the smart ones, tend to check their alternatives on line, before making any important purchase decision.
This is were social media comes in. Social media has a considerable role on providing this consumer with this information. They are now considered far more reliable than the previous methods, since in many cases the person behind that blog, web site, facebook page, is a consumer just like the researcher himself.
YouTube channels, Facebook pages, Twitter Accounts are the hub for this information and if the companys aren’t there, they soon, probably, won’t be around anyomore.
and this change is happening very fast, extremelly fast.
Action required. The action required is to dominate this science, apply to yourself first, on your site, products, and once you mastered peddle to your clients. Sure shot!
good luck.

How it all started? I have and manage several domain names for Amazon associate affiliate sales. The formula is buy a product keyword related domain name install wordpress cms plaform and populate the website with a stock of products that in case of a successful sale, Amazon will credit my account with a well-deserved commission.
I have a couple of successful sites such as www.casio-shock and perkins marine. So I went on searching for similar domains where I can repeat the enterprise. And that’s how I started xerox-now.com.
What was my goal? Although the printer market for a affiliate it is is very competitive, I suppose I had a chance marketing highly specific donor and cartridge names, I would also update frequently the site with news about Xerox, hoping to attract some traffic.
Checking the Sources. Unfortunately, I was not able to wait enough to see the website succeed. This morning and e-mail from Xerox IP surveillance department, politely requesting the site to be be shut down, based on the fact that Xerox is a trademark and the all copyrights on the name. I did check the name on the email message and learn how to be Seana L. Watts, a well-known lawyer on copyright infringement. I had to do same verification, after all could be a scam.
I believe if you want to operate as a self-employed, speculator, is mandatory to have a sense of what’s right and wrong, I did some meditation on the fact that I was going to throw away my investment andtime. But again they invested a lot of money promoting the name, and the law and power is clearly on their side. I not only shut down the site immediately, but also plan on not selling this domain to anyone else, says I could be inducing them to do the same mistake, so my decision is to write down the domain as a business loss, caring for my name caring for my reputation and hoping to prove the performance of other domains I have for sale.
Learned my lesson. And above all I guess I learnt my lesson, from now on I will stay away from copyright infringement domain names.
